Looking for a local arts spot that truly supports the community? That’s exactly what New Spire Arts in Frederick, Maryland, is all about. Since launching their Artists in Residence program in 2020, they’ve been a lifeline for regional artists, offering dedicated rehearsal space when everyone needed a creative outlet during the pandemic. I mean, it’s pretty inspiring to see how they turned a tough year into an opportunity to foster new talent. Before that, their holiday candlelight concerts on december 24, 2018, became a beloved seasonal tradition, people still talk about the warm glow and cozy vibes. The venue also hosts the region’s poetry championships, which draw a lively crowd eager to cheer on local poets. If you step into the gallery, you'll find a treasure trove of historical artifacts, photos, costumes, and posters that tell the story of performances gone by, plus a peaceful viewing area where you can soak it all in without feeling overwhelmed. The location is super convenient too, nestled near some popular cafes, perfect for grabbing a coffee before or after a show. To get there, just take US-29 south from the north, turn right onto Main Street, and follow the signs eastward. Want the latest scoop?
